What you've just typed is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this forum is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Home Setup:
iBook G4 1GHz/768Mb/60GB Recording to 160GB Lacie USB2.0 Drive.
Using Logic Express 7.1, M-Audio Fast Track USB, Cambridge Soundworks SBS35 Monitors, and running through my Hifi System. (Technics System with KEF speakers.)Keystation 49e for midi.

Studio Setup: The studio is made of 2 construction crew barracks. Not shure if they are used alot in the US, but in norway, whenever a construction crew is staying in the same location for a long time, they build offices and quartes from these 9fx23f "houses". Anyways i Bought two of them, put them together and completely renovated them. Giving me a total of 18x46 square feet. Built a floating wall to separate control room from recording room. Picked up a couple of sound proofed doors from the local nut-house, and builit 3 layer windows between the two rooms. It`s not exactly Supersonic Studio`s, but at least I`m out off the house Smile

Control Room (Sound proofed with doubble layer walls with air in between, walls covered with all kinds of old carpets, carpets covered with clean new curtains)

Powermac Dual G5 2GHz/2560Mb/160GB SystemDisk/200GB Recording Disk.
2 17" Siemens CRT Monitors

Digi002R
M-Audio Ocatane 8 Channel Preamp with ADAT.
Behringer Ultragain Pro 2 Channel Preamp.
Yamaha MG/F 10 Channel Mixer with 4 Preamps.
Looking to get a 2 channel preamp for my S/PDIF inputs on the 002.
Keenwood reference Hifi with Sonab Speakers.
Samson Resolve 65a Studio Monitors with 120a Sub.
Akai S2000 (Won`t work with the G5, argh..)
Technics 88 Key Keyboard with Midi In/out, used as a midicontroller.

Software:
ProTools LE 7
Logic Express 7
Live Adapted
Reason 3
EastWest Symphonic GOLD

Plug-In`s:
Amplitube
T-RAcks EQ
DigiBundle
BFBunde
Pultec EQ Bundle
Slightly Rude Comp
FXpansion VST Wrapper
FXpansion BFD
Lots N Lots of VST FX and Instruments.

Recording Room: (The bigger room of the 2. Same soundproofing as the control room.)

Sonor 8 piece Drum Kit
Sabian Cymbal Set-Up
Axis Foot Pedals

Laney B2 Bassamp with extra cabinet
Marshall TSL 122 Guitaramp
Peavey Bandit Guitar Amp
Roland V-Amp

North A400 Pa with Warfdale speakers.
Phonic 4 Channel HeadPhone Amp
alot of K&M; Mic stands..

Microphones:
AKG 414 (1)
AKG C3000 (2)
AKG C1000 (2)
AKG D880 (1)
Sennheizer 602e (1)
Shure SM57 (5)
Beyerdyn Opus29 (1)
TSM MT87 (1)

Movable 3fx7 sound proofing walls. (8) Great for building small "rooms" for recording live with less sound leeking onto other mics..

Guitars:
Gibson les Paul Custom 1957R
Fender Stratocaster
Jackson Soloist
ESP Kirk Hammet Signature
Takamine G Series
Cort A5 Bass
Takamine Acoustic Bass

This is the basics of my studio set-up.
Looking into a few more mics just so I can vary the sound more, and a nice preamp with S/PDIF output+ a master clock.

Well.... I guess I am still going to list what I use... I should say though that I am kind of in a transition phase so ....
I use the family computer, P4, 1.6 G, 384 MB RAM, IDE HD 40 and 120 GB, built in soundcard AC 97, I mix through computer headsets .... Frown
I don't currently work on Audio projects, for training purpose, I try to mix midi files from the net....
My main DAW soft is SX3 + Wavelab 5 for "mastering"
I use lots of VST or Rewire instruments: Reason 3, The Grand 2, Hypersonic 2, Groove Agent 2, Halion 3, Lounge Lizard 3, EP Station...
As for SFX, I mostly use Timeworks, Wave, Izotope, and the built in plugs ...

I also have a very modest setup. I am, however, living in South Korea while my wife teaches english, so I have an apartment to mix in. It's hard but getting easier. I have with me:

HP zx5000 laptop (p4 3.0 GHz)
Cubase SX3
Mostly free plugins
Cheap headphones
Cheap local speakers, though I'm trying desperately to find some better ones
Rode NT-1A mic
Behringer tube MIC100 pre
Tascam US-122 USB soundcard
Old Squire Strat (slightly modded)
Bass I picked up here
Fair amount of knowledge and experience (I'm only 23)

It's hard to find people to record here, as I don't speak Korean, so I generally just record myself, and try to apply mixing techniques, to keep myself in practice for when we go home.

Sorry I'm late to the party. I have time to reply now, due to, of all things, equipment failure.

I'm waiting for Yamaha to call me back. It's been 8 1/2 hours now, and I strongly suspect that the best thing they can tell me is to ship my AW4416 to Cali for repairs. I haven't backed up my files lately because it takes days -- quite literally -- to back up 8 songs what with the track counts and automation, and dozens of CDRs. It suddenly didn't recognize the Waves plugin card and is making static crackling sounds -- not good. I've been working on this project for 3 years, and just want to finish it and move on to another platform... I'm thinking Cubase, Tascam US2400, MOTU... and fantasizing of drop kicking this into the bay

ANYWAY! (not including various door stops and boat anchors; this is stuff I actually use):

Outboard preamps:

(1)Peavey VMP-2
(1)ProSonus MP20
(2)Ampex 351

Outboard Compression:

(1)Empirical Labs Distressor EL8X
(2)FMR Audio RNC1773
(1)FMR Audio RNLA7239

Mics:

(2) Sennheiser 421
(3) Sennheiser 604
(1) Shure 57
(1) Shure 58
(1) Shure 58 Beta A
(2) Shure SM-81
(2) GT AM 62
(2) GT AM 51
(1) Oktava ML52
(1) ElectroVoice RE-20
(1) ElectroVoice RE-18
(1) ElectroVoice RE-10
(1) AKG D-112
(1) Apex 460

Various instruments, etc.

Alrighty. Spoke with the Yammie folks and did a bit of t-shooting.

The Waves card appears to be, uh, fucked.

Kind of a relief of sorts. I won't be able to mix for probably at least 10 days, since I have to send it to Cali, but I was suspecting worse. Not sure whether I need to re-do all the FX and dynamics tweaking, but I can deal with that.

Still looking forward to Cubase, or Sonar. Logic is unnecessarily elaborate for my needs.
