Ok total rookie... will the mastering engineer let you know if your mixes suck?
At what point should you be confident enough to actually let other people hear your music? When is enough, enough, when prepping for mastering? Still Learning, One mistake at a time |

The philisophical answer is "when you like it" it's ready. Reality CAN clash with this however. Is this going to a label, distrobution, or a demo, self titled album? More info would be needed for a good informed response. Hope you are having fun with it and proud of the work you are putting into it!

Make sure your mix sounds decent on different systems - car stereo, boombox, home stereo, etc.
If you're fairly consistent across varying systems, you're gold! mud www.mudbean.com Everyone brings joy to my room ... some by entering, some by leaving. "He was a dreamer, a thinker, a speculative philosopher ... or, as his wife would have it, an idiot." -- Douglas Adams |
