We just bought two of the AEA R84 ribbons, and they are a totally kickass microphone.

When you talk to Taylor, make sure you also try the KP-6M (their cheaper omni test mic) and I think you'll love the Lomo M3 head on the MC012 body.

My apologies for the idiotic question - "What list"?
I just read the beginning of this thread.
Please hold your applause until the conclusion of this performance! Thank you.

I know you have a lot of Blue's listed there, but I'd love to hear the Kiwi (their flagship transistor mic) against mics like the Soundelux and AT4050.

I was just at a place that had two up from a horn session. These are very nice mics on horns from what I heard.

I would request that the full (or nearly full) Neumann line be represented. For example, the U89 lineage including the TLM193 and TLM170. The M147, M149 and M150 tube mics too.

sdelsolray, I have good relations with Karl Winkler and Neumann, and as we are setting up sessions over the next several months for higher-end large condensers, I'm sure many of those will be included.

OK, I give up. You have included several mics from BLUE, but not their best, the original Bottle. Yeah, its expensive, but they have been around for many years now and they are starting to show up on the Used Gear lists. And the availability of 8 different capsules makes the Bottle one of the most flexible mics available at any price. Too good to leave out.

Oh yeah, and in the more reasonable cost category, for about $1,100 the Coles 4038 lets anyone acquire one of the true "classics" of all time. In my mind, its the 1st ribbon to own. Many of the newer models offer different features, but the Coles 4038 is still my first choice when I want the track to sound like it was recorded through a ribbon mic.

Good luck with the sessions.

Ah About those LOMO Capsules.

Here's some info from Harvey Gerst. In conjunction with the MC-012, which seems to be the only question.

They are avavilable, but the Sound-Room is down until later this month due to the sudden death of Elizabeth, The lady you'd talk to when you placed an order. I didn't know her but had dealt with her recently. She was very nice to me, and got the impression she probably was with everyone.

There are photo of both the M1 and M3 models there.

I don't know whether they are available elsewhere.

Soundelux U99. I've heard only great things about that mic, esp. on vocals. Would be great to have it incluided as well.
