k i recorded a cheap guitar at home. my home setup is m-audios omni box going into the pc to sonar.. with a shure 5655d dynamic mic. sounds pretty gay cuzz the guitar has only 4 string one of which make a vibrating noise. the guitar sucks i just dont like the sound of it.. would u say its becuase my setup or jsut the guitar? this is a dryyy take no added nothing not even eq. and i have the mic aimed at the whole about 1 foot away

Sounds to me like your setup is rather faithfully representing what I can imagine that thing would sound like if one were unfortunate enough to place one's ear about a foot in front of the soundhole.

String up the guitar and tune it, or upgrade your instrument.
Try playing with finger picks.
The recording setup is probably fine, except for some background noise.

Ha...so, you have a guitar that doesn't sound good...micing it with an inappropriate mic...placed wrong...into $5 preamps...and you're wondering why the recording sounds poor?

that's my second favorite song of all time...everything else is tied for first though.

lmaoo the bridge confused u hahahahaha lolol.. i dont play like i said before lmao... nah man thats not the setup im talking about but i fingure i can mess around lol. popman so that mic isnt good? and its placed wrong? those are things i can fix! thats why wanted to post it.
